Chémery's site

Commissioned in 1968, Chémery is an aquifer storage site located 30 km south of Blois. It extends across 5 towns of Loir-et-Cher: Chémery, Soings-en-Sologne, Sassay, Couddes and Contres. The site consists of the initial installation, "Chémery Main" and "Chémery Development", built in 1992. Since the construction of the site, major works have been carried out to improve performances and limit the impact of the activity on the environment thanks to the installation of new technologies.

Located at the heart of the French gas transport network, it occupies a strategic place in the procurement of natural gas for Paris, Lyon, Nantes and the south of France. In 2016, the activity of the Chémery site generated 65,000 working hours with external companies.

Storage at Soings-en-Sologne is located close to that of Chémery, and extends across 2 towns of Loir-et-Cher.
