The storage sites of Cerville (54)

Commissioned in 1970, the Cerville site is an aquifer storage site. Located 10 km east of Nancy, it extends across 13 towns of Meurthe-et-Moselle, and occupies a strategic place in the procurement of natural gas in Picardy, Nord and the east of France. The site has undergone major renovation and adaptation programmes aimed at improving its environmental performances. In 2008, the motor compressors were replaced with electric compressors, significantly reducing atmospheric emissions.
